Today’s wine from Château Terre Forte lies just outside the border of Southern Rhône’s kingpin, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and shares its signature soils of large, round stones, les galets roulés (see pic below!). This terroir comes across in this wine of unquestionable pedigree, offering a glimpse into the old style of the Southern Rhône. A bottle of classic French red, oozing dark, brambly fruits and heady, tertiary flavors that can only come from a perfectly aged wine.

A quintessential Southern Rhône blend of Grenahce, Syrah and Carignan. The biodynamically-grown grapes were hand-harvested and fermented separately in stainless steel before being racked into large concrete tanks where it aged until deemed ready to drink. Ten years in this case! Bottled unfined and unfiltered.   

Beautiful and exuberant aromas of blackberry, plum, currant, new leather, cherry tobacco and dried herbs. The palate’s silky and lush textures coat the palate in rich dark fruit followed by earthy anise and spicy undertones. A complete and seamless wine drinking at its peak.
Château Terre Forte is nestled In the heart of the Southern Rhône Valley. Here Pierre Jauffret and Nadine Auray farm and make wine biodynamically, intent on preserving the soil and environment in the best way they know how. Their 25 hectares are separated into 51 different parcels; each wine full of life, vivacity, depth, and great personality.
