Father's Day 3-pack

Father's Day 3-pack

Three Flagship Producers from Three Incredible Regions
We try not to discount all the good stuff here at Monarch. Though we've sent out plenty of emails about amazing bottles, there are some producers, some releases that we just can't bring ourselves to markdown. Yet for Father's day this year, we've decided to offer up some of our most special bottles at an incredible price for that special person in your life.

Two of these producers might be familiar to you, as we've featured them fairly recently: Jaugueyron, a dynamic husband and wife duo committed to tradition in Bordeaux and Taupenot-Merme, a producer with pedigree making stunning classics in Burgundy. Il Paradiso di Manfredi we haven't written about, but you don't have to be a Brunello fanatic to understand what makes these intimate, small-production wines so coveted. Each of these producers represent the best of the best, uniquely defined paragons of their respective regions.

Todays' offer is quite special, truly remarkable, and a first for Monarch as we've never offered this many blue-chip wines in a single shot. These are THREE jewels in a single crown and an easy solution for what to give him (or yourself) this weekend.

Domaine Taupenot-Merme, Gevrey Chambertin 2019 $99.99

100% Pinot Noir from Gevrey-Chambertin. Farmed organically and harvested manually before being de-stemmed, fermentation with native yeast.  Grapes are sourced from four lieux-dits: La Justice, Craite Paille, Les Seuvrées, Bel Air, all of which are considered to be Premier Cru quality vineyards. Bottled un-fined and unfiltered.

An elegant and perfumed nose of fresh red currant interwoven with Earl Grey tea, spice and earthy, floral aromatics. The palate is full of lifted red fruit dancing on airy tannins with a subtle vein of slatey minerality. Perfectly drinkable now after a thorough decant, or can easily be cellared for years to come.
Clos du Jaugueron, Haut-Médoc 2017 $59.99

Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Merlot from the Left bank of Bordeaux, all farmed biodynamically. Low intervention cellar practices. Fruit is hand harvested and aged in concrete to accentuate the soft yet substantial wine, nascent to Jaugueron.

Impeccably balanced and powerful, with cherries and blueberries mingling alongside dried violets, cigar, and licorice. The palate is bursting with red and black fruits accented by herbal, almost minty earthiness, all of it driven by racy acidity. Structured and lush, this wine can go the distance in the cellar, but with a little air, it's the perfect wine for steak night.
Il Paradiso di Manfredi, Rosso di Montalcino 2019 $65.99

Entirely Sangiovese farmed biodynamically and harvested manually. Grapes are destemmed before fermenting in concrete, then go into neutral French oak for élevage. The wine ages an extra year in Slovenian oak before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Very complex, almost mystifying. Dried rose petals and fresh red cherry aromas lift from the glass alongside sandalwood, peppercorn, and Cassia cinnamon. Fresh, ripe red fruit is pushed across the sapid and full palate with a dash of anise and vanilla bean. Soft, almost plush tannins balanced with tartness add to the myriad sensations of this wine.
