100% Grenache from a single vineyard comprised of pure granite at a staggering 1200 meters above sea level in the Sierra de Gredos mountains, due just west of Madrid. An area known for known for UFO sightings. Grapes are manually harvested and fermented using whole bunches with native yeast in stainless steel tanks. The finished wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Deep and baritone, this is a darker, more lush expression of Grenache, with ripe red and black fruit, violet, peppercorn and graphite minerality. The intensity of flavor builds on the palate where more black fruit is layered with cacoa powder, spice and a touch of Mediterranean herbs. A serious, bold wine for a song.
