95% Sangiovese and 5% Canaiolo grown on a hillside mirroring Montevertine's legendary 'Le Pergole Torte' vineyard. Fermented with native yeasts and matured for two years in large Slovenian oak casks, followed by three additional months in bottle before release. It is neither fined nor filtered.
The aromas come pouring out of the glass after a couple of swirls: amarena cherry, blackberry, violet, thyme, sandalwood and a touch of mint. The palate is deeply layered with concentrated black fruit bolstered by terse limestone minerality and classic Sangiovese acidity. An intense and solid wine, without losing grace and depth. Chianti doesn't get better than this.
